degree of difficulty: easy
Distance: 11.5 km A pleasant trail that undulates rather than rises steeply to the peak. Forested with several viewpoints to the north and south along the way, with one section of rock scrambling near the top. The views all round are well worth your effort.
Directions: See Cultus
Lake area directions. After 1.5 km past the lights notice the "Welcome to
Cultus" sign on the left, pass it and turn right onto Parmenter Rd.
(gravel) at the next corner. After 600 m turn right, another 600 m turn
left (Vedder Mountain Forest Service Rd.) continue uphill for 3 km (rough
road, 4x4 recommended). Watch for trailhead signpost on the right. Park
beside road. Do not be discouraged by horrible old road you walk up to
start with. After 1 km take the first left (watch for signpost) and follow
a smooth road to a clearing. User box and trail is to your right. |
